→Maybe it was the fact that it was 3:00 a.m. and we were all wide awake, but I’ll tell you, I’ve never been in a room with more contagious laughter than that one. For two hours, we nuked cups of ramen in that beaten blue and silver microwave and dished out high-fives like hot cakes. My favorite night in that dorm, and it didn’t require a drop of alcohol.

EssayRegarding the made-for-web series, Angel of Death:
→The web series concluded its 10-episode run today, so I chose to watch every episode as one entire whole, which to some may seem to go against the point of a web series. But I say it’s about the same as watching an entire season of 24 in one sitting; it’s not for everybody, but it delivers a unique experience.

ReviewTen minutes into Wanted, I couldn’t believe that James McAvoy wasn’t a household name. He’s been in recognized films but his roles were never in the conversation; Atonement was a vehicle for its two female leads and The Last King of Scotland was Forest Whitaker’s Oscar resume. Yet in Wanted I saw a bankable American star in McAvoy.

ReviewSmokin’ Aces is basically Rat Race meets Domino. Unfortunately, I found Rat Race to be lame, and I liked Domino until I actually started thinking about the movie.

→ Review→I firmly believe that any man’s finest hour—his greatest fulfillment to all he holds dear… is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle—victorious.

ReviewMaybe I just watch too much TV, but lately a lot of movies I’ve been watching seem to be 2-hour films with 45-minute concepts. X-Men: The Last Stand is the latest victim, because when I think about it, only one big thing—one major event, that is—happens in this film, with maybe 2 smaller things. And that’s it, the rest is just filler.

ReviewImportant ideas can make a film important, regardless of whether or not the film works as a whole. Sometimes important ideas can even save a film, to a certain extent. V for Vendetta is a film with important ideas, and it is a film that works. The added bonus is its decent timing.
