Mr. Lynch, You Just Blew My Mind

David Lynch’s Lost Highway is a movie that:

  1. Is a tad bit overrated.
  2. Contains some bad actors performing some bad acting. Balthazar Getty is stiff, Bill Pullman borders on parody at times, and the monotonic Patricia Arquette…well, I suspect she was cast solely for her looks and her willingness to shed her clothes.

“Inland Empire” (2006)

When I walked out of the screening of Inland Empire, I thought to myself, “I never want to see that movie again for the rest of my life.” That doesn’t mean that it’s a bad film or a good film. All I meant by that is, because of the nature of the film, I was stressed out for three straight hours.

Inland Empire may be the most disturbing movie I’ve ever experienced. Why?
