So much of the criticism and praise of Watchmen centers on the dilemma of adapting the acclaimed source material. Many deem the original graphic novel “unfilmable,” others disagree. Theaters are overstuffed with the baggage that everyone brings to the film’s viewing experience: Can it live up to my expectations? What will be different?

“Watchmen” Devils On My Shoulders

In honor of Watchmen Week at Forces of Geek, I debate watching the new film before reading that classic graphic novel:

I’m the kind of guy that likes to do things in order. I start watching TV shows from the pilot episode—no skipping. I listen to a band’s albums in chronological order. I even listen to informative podcasts from the very beginning.
