Mr. Lynch, You Just Blew My Mind

Tags: , ,

David Lynch’s Lost Highway is a movie that:

  1. Is a tad bit overrated.
  2. Contains some bad actors performing some bad acting. Balthazar Getty is stiff, Bill Pullman borders on parody at times, and the monotonic Patricia Arquette…well, I suspect she was cast solely for her looks and her willingness to shed her clothes.

Nevertheless, the movie is intriguing, layered, and definitely a “Lynch.” There is one scene, though, that goes above and beyond anything that Lost Highway manages to accomplish; this is one of those scenes that comes out of nowhere, bringing a chill to my body and mind alike.

Wow.
