Okay, I’ll start posting some significant entries soon enough, but there’s just something I’ve been wanting to mention.
Because I’m attempting the polyphasic sleep cycle (napping every handful of hours), naturally a nap or two will land during my shift at work. So instead of having lunch, I snap my break into half and take a 30 minute nap at 8 AM and at noon.
I snooze in my car in order to be away from everyone and to be relatively comfortable, but I drive my car away from the studio building because I’d rather not have people peeping at me as I slumber. So I move to an always-empty parking lot, but more specifically, I park in front of a specific tree. The lawn around there is always green and manicured, and the tree is young and somewhat isolated, so it looks pure and aesthetically pleasing. I chose the tree because it reminded me of the Tree of Life from The Fountain.
So now every time I drive to the tree, I think of The Fountain and sometimes sing the old hymn, “There Is A Fountain” to myself.
The punchline is the realization that the tree which reminds me of the Tree of Life (or “the Fountain”) is the tree that I drive to every day in order to receive rest and rejuvenation.
